My Story
Over my thirty-year teaching career, my love for students and penchant for adventure have taken me to classrooms all over the world. I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in math, and began my career in the trenches as a secondary mathematics instructor in the North Carolina public school system. Five years later, I earned a Master’s degree in Education at North Carolina State University and taught at St. Mary’s College in Raleigh, NC. Since 1988, I've been on the faculty of the University of the Nations (U of N), a private educational institution with a global network of locations. My work with the U of N has taken me to over sixty nations of the world, working with educators, government officials, and other non-profit agencies. In 2004, I completed a doctorate at Trinity International University and recently published a book entitled, We’re in this Boat Together: Leadership Succession between the Generations.
I continue to travel and teach internationally and have many other writing projects in mind!
